Hotel Siddhartha Palace
Hotel Siddhartha Palace was originally the property of the Divan of Kutch, Shri Chaitanya Prasad Divan. Shri Chaitanya Prasad had dreamt to build a royal structure that would mark his status and could be a body of work that could be praised for centuries to come. He brought in the most efficient craftsmen (locally called Kadia's, mistry's and karigars) available, who produced intricate work on every border that marks the periphery of the structure. The elephants sculpted in these borders were considered as symbols of royalty in that era. Every craftsman worked on each border for eleven years which marks the intricate work done on this structure, which is grandeur personified. This splendid piece of art stand's tall in the tranquil location of Shahibaug which is yet home to a lot of noble and famous families of Ahmedabad.
